In this country social workers are termed babysnatchers.

I took a 7 day old baby from the arms of its screaming mother yesterday. I talked softly to the baby while driving him to his new placement. I told him to forget. I asked him to forgive his mother. I wished out loud that he would not blame me.

All this may seem a bit loopy...talking to a baby who will not remember the events of the day or the conversation he had with his new social worker.

It was my catharsis.

You never know what the subconscious is able to keep a hold of...

When working in the social services field there is a constant need to decompress...vent...rant/rave...
lean on the nearest shoulder...cry...

If we held in all in we would naturally implode. Social work is not an easy career path.
